Mothers' Union

The Mothers' Union is a world-wide Anglican organisation concerned with all aspects of family life. Members are young and old, married and single, women and men. It is not necessary to be a mother or father. The Five Objects of the Mothers' Union are:

  • to uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and promote its wider understanding.
  • to encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church.
  • to maintain a world-wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service.
  • to promote conditions in society favourable to family life and the protection of children.
  • to help those whose family life has met with adversity.

Members of the Mothers' Union are encouraged to

  • commit themselves in taking a full part in the life and worship of the Church in the parish and in the diocese.
  • meet and work with all agencies in their local community who share the same concerns about family life.

St. John's Mothers' Union meets at 7.30pm on the first Monday of every month. An interesting programme is planned and ALL - not just mothers -  are welcome.
