Financial Giving

How can I give to the church?

One-off Donations

 * Through the collection at each Sunday service - cash or cheques (payable to: "Yeadon St John PCC)

* Through the church online donations page - here is a link: https://tinyurl.com/stjohnsyeadon

Planned giving scheme

We encourage all those with an ongoing commitment to St. John's to contribute financially to its ministry on a regular basis. Doing so does not imply any legal commitments to giving. You can stop, reduce or increase your giving whenever you wish.  But by giving in a planned way, you will be showing your ongoing support for the church's work and helping the church to manage its budget and to plan ahead. Here are three methods to give in a regular, planned way:

* Parish Giving Scheme (PGS)

  This allows you to set up a Direct Debit for your giving. It is paid from your account, to the St John's bank account

  via an online giving site run by the Church of England called the Parish Giving Scheme. It has many advantages

  both for user and the church and this is our preferred method of planned giving. For more information or to join

  the scheme, please go to:

            https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/donors/find-your-parish/yeadon-st-john-the-evangelist-leeds

* Personal Bankers Order

  By using online banking or by writing to your bank you can set up a regular standing order from your account to

  the St John's account. You may already pay your utility bills in this way.  If you wish to give this way then the

  church's bank details are:

                Account name: Yeadon St John's Parochial Church Council

                Account number: 53354947                 Sort code: 05-01-66

* Giving Envelopes

  For those who prefer not to use bankers order, you can still give in a planned way by asking for a box of giving

  envelopes. The box contains one envelope for each week of the year in which you can put cash or a cheque and then

  place it in the collection plate at church.

Gift Aid

All charitable giving is tax deductible. This means that if you pay tax on your income or investments, then the church can reclaim the tax that you have already paid on any money you give to St. John's. By filling out a gift aid form you can increase your church giving by 25%! If you pay tax and have not already filled out a form, please let us know. At no extra cost to you the church can increase your giving.

Bequests / Legacies

Leaving a gift in your Will to the church is a very practical way of continuing to support its ministry for future generations. Please ask for more information on this if you think this is something you might like to do.
